Our Philosophy
Martial Arts Family Fitness provides Life Success Training
What is Life Success Training?
At Martial Arts Family Fitness, we use the martial arts as a metaphor to train students in life skills
that will empower them in every area of their life. It is our intention to provide programming that draws
out values such as leadership, self-esteem, resilience, positive attitude, preparedness, organization, problem
solving, commitment, discipline, effective communication, respect, positive modeling, responsibility, stress
management, empathy, perseverance, flexibility, confidence, valuable relationships, and cooperation.
In a nutshell, we believe that:
- success is available to everyone
- a student has all the necessary ingredients for success within
- success can be learned
- each student has a unique pace and method of learning
- learning is enhanced with encouragement and support
- learning is measurable by a change in results
- training is a creative and effective way to learn a new behavior
- a vivid, dramatic or exciting training experience teaches more than a routine or boring experience
- martial arts provide a distinctive training experience by challenging the body, mind and spirit of a student.
Why Martial Arts?

- In ancient times, martial artists were extremely respectful of nature and of all peoples, even those who were
adversarial.
- Personal success as a martial artist is inspired through hard work, commitment, mental discipline and a
positive attitude.
- Respect for family and authority, accepting personal accountability and community involvement, are all integral
elements of Martial Arts Family Fitness.

- Physical conditioning and improved physical reflexes are achieved through comprehensive stretching, exercise
routines, and self-defense techniques.
- Concentration, memory skills and mental reflexes are naturally enhanced.
- Self-defense skills build values such as self-worth and self-reliance that promote personal responsibility.
- Martial Arts raise the standards of achievement
- Before promotion to a higher level, specific standards must be achieved in each skill.
- For children, special home and school reports must be completed by the student's family and school teachers.
- Martial Arts is exciting and challenging
- Students develop positive values and beliefs about themselves as they train in a supportive, fun, and
stimulating environment.
- Students are encouraged by both the instructors and their classmates to always try their hardest to give a
little more than what is required.
